Dr. Joseph M. Skladany's family dental practice offers cosmetic and restorative services. His practice was established in Pinehurst, NC, April 1996. Dr. Skladany grew up in Northeast Pennsylvania and first attended Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery/University of Maryland Dental School in 1995. Dr. Skladany has an inviting and patient-friendly contemporary office located at 10 Memorial Drive, Pinehurst, NC, across from First Health Family Care Center and Pinehurst Trace. Dr. Skladany is a member of the Sandhills Dental Study Club and the Moore Chamber of Commerce. Prior to dentistry, he worked as a golf professional. He worked as a golf professional at Burning Tree (Bethesda, Maryland), Grand Cypress (Orlando, Florida), and Pinehurst (1982). Dr. Skladany loved Pinehurst and after graduation from dental school, decided to return to establish his dental practice in 1996.
The uniquely qualified staff has the education, dedication, and experience to help you with your long-term dental needs. The two hygienists, Susan and Tammy, have a combined work experience of over 40 years. The dental assistant, Jeanne, has worked in the dental field for over 30 years. The office staff, Lisa and Terri, have a combined work history in the dental field of over 25 years.
In keeping with today's technology, the office has the latest state-of-the-art dental equipment such as digital 3-D (three dimensional) panoramic x-rays. The newly developed panoramic machine can detect abnormalities in sinuses, bone structure, as well as dentition. Also, CEREC 3-D CAD/CAM technology is available to provide patients with crowns/onlays in a single visit. This minimizes the hassle of having impressions, temporary crowns and a second office visit. You can have a new crown in 90 minutes!

If you have dental insurance, a predetermination of benefits can be filed to make you aware of the amount you will be reimbursed for the treatment. Full payment is due on the date of service. The office will file all dental insurance claims to help you maximize your insurance benefits.
Lisa Meilleur, RN/Office Manager – Lisa joined Dr. Skladany's practice in August 2001. Lisa has previously worked for First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst Medical Clinic, St. Joseph's Home Health, and Kaiser Permanente Urgent Care. Prior to her nursing career, Lisa worked with Progress Energy in customer accounting/customer service for 10 years. Lisa has two children, Katie and Philip. Katie is a pharmacy technician at Cooper's Pharmacy and Philip is attending NC State University. She also has a granddaughter, Natalie, who is two-years old. Lisa's hobbies include: horseback riding, travel, shopping, and family outings. "I find Dr. Skladany's office to be a very exciting and an enjoyable work environment. Jeanne Pascanik-Sisk, Dental Assistant – Jeanne joined Dr. Skladany's practice in April 2000. She has worked in the dental field for 32 years. She first worked with a young dentist from Brooklyn, New York, who opened a practice in Clearwater, Florida. She received her education for dental assisting with expanded duties at the University of Florida. She attended St. Petersburg Junior College for certification in radiography. Jeanne worked with forensic dentistry for Pinellas County, Florida. She moved to Moore County 25 years ago and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Walter Morris, Jr., for 14 years. Jeanne has been married for 25 years and has a teenage daughter, Jeanne Leigh. She loves to travel and go to the beach. "I love working here with Dr. Joe and all the gals because they are true professionals at work with a fine blend of love and laughter!" |

Tammy Abercrombie, Dental Hygienist – Tammy joined Dr. Skladany's practice in 2001. She was an Army brat and Army wife but claims North Carolina as her home. She attended high school here in Moore County and graduated in 1982. She then attended college in to Guilford County and graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Through her 29 years of dental hygiene experience, she has practiced as both a private practice and civil service hygienist in a number of other states, as well as in Germany. Tammy returned to NC in 1993 and has made Moore County her permanent residence. She is married and has a teenage son, Taylor. She enjoys scuba diving, scrap booking, traveling, and working with missions. Tammy states "what I love most about dental hygiene (besides the obvious of caring for people) is the one-on-one relationships that are afforded to develop in this practice." |

Susan Tarpley, Dental Hygienist – Susan joined Dr. Skladany's practice in September 1998. She is a local girl born and raised in the Fayetteville area. She is married to a hometown boy and they still live on the outskirts of Fayetteville in Hope Mills. She is a Native American, a member of the Choctaw tribe of Oklahoma. She and her husband have one daughter, Heather, and two granddaughters, Katherine and Nevada. She is frequently asked why she drives to Pinehurst to work. She states "I found exactly what I was looking for here. This is a patient-oriented practice that offers excellent dentistry and patient care. Our standards are high and I like that. I especially enjoy our patients." Susan enjoys water sports, traveling, and being with her family. |

Terri Sexton, Patient Coordinator – Terri joined the office in January 2010. She has a work history of being a patient coordinator for 13 years. She previously worked for a local dental practice in Pinehurst. Terri and her husband, who is now retired from the US Air Force, have lived and traveled all over the world. He now works full-time at the Talamore golf course. She has three children: Leah, who works as an optical tech; Stephanie, who is currently attending the Air Force Academy in Colorado to prose a career as an Air Force Fighter pilot; and Keegan, a US Marine stationed in Beauford, SC, working as a Crash and Rescue Firefighter. Both, Leah and Keegan were married this year. Terri feels she has been very blessed in life and lives life to its fullest. Her motto in life is "always treat people the way you would like to be treated." |
